We left the ceiling alone until the long weekend of July 1st, 2016. In one weekend I filled the cavities with rigid foamboard insulation, sprayed around the edges to create a seal, stuffed the remaining space with roxul and then tacked vapour barrier up immediately after. The plastic sheeting kept the roxul from succumbing to gravity.
Then my husband milled very flexible sheathing from our own spruce, and we tacked those up to hold the walnut finishing boards. It was one of the hottest weekends of the summer, and he did most of the work. I am not skilled enough to install hardwood floor upside down along a curve (by a long shot!)
